A minimum of 15 peoples happen to be brutally murdered and houses burnt right after Jukun militia attack a residential area in Benue state , Nigeria.
Chairman associated with Ukum local authorities Parts of Benue state yesterday raised the alarm over carried on killings and damage of property within the area by Jukun militia.
People disclosed that since the crisis broke upward, no fewer compared to fifteen persons have been killed while properties worth countless naira have also been destroyed by the armed Jukun militia .
The authorities chairman told media that places impacted by the crises consist of Ayali village, and a community occupied by displaced persons owing to attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
According to the Community, a follow-up meeting was held at the Palace of the paramount ruler of the Jukun, the Aku Uka with both council chairmen within the affected places in attendance in which he said a ceasefire agreement was reached.
The local government chairman expressed dissatisfaction that the Jukuns who were part of the serenity deal would renage and continue to assault Benue communities in the border places leading to wanton killings and damage of properties.
This individual said already, presently there is a humanitarian situation owing to the displacement associated with about 10,000 people.
Their lamented that the attack has come whenever farmers are intended to be planting their crops, saying such a situation is capable of causing food crises within the state and the country at large.
Their appealed to the National Emergency Administration Agency (NEMA) to fit the efforts from the state government to help the victims with a view to alleviating their own suffering.
